Writing Committee 2001-2002
Acknowledging
the value of writing as both a means of learning
and an essential professional
skill, the University Writing Advisory
Board shall promote student
achievement in writing, sponsor
workshops, and conduct an annual
faculty forum to foster campus-
wide support for the principles of
writing across the curriculum (WAC)
and to demonstrate methods of
employing WAC strategies that are
both generic and
discipline-specific. In addition, the University
Writing Advisory Board shall assist
the director of the Writing Center
in recruiting qualified students to
serve as writing tutors and in
encouraging greater faculty
participation in the work of the Writing
Center. (AASU
