"Over the Rainbow" by E.Y. Harburg

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Yes they do, really do come true
Someday i'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
that's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I
If happy little bluebirds fly above the rainbow
Why, Oh why can't I

NEUTERED VERSION:

On the other side of a rainbow
High
I 've heard of a place in a song
On the other side of a rainbow
Blue Skies
Dreams come true
I can make a wish
And wake up in a cloudless place
There are no troubles
I'll be up High
On the other side of a rainbow are blue birds
Birds fly over the rainbow
Whay can't I
If birds can fly, why can't I

"Desperado" by the Eagles

Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses?
You been out ridin’fences for so long now
Oh, you’re a hard one
I know that you got your reasons
These things that are pleasin’ you
Can hurt you somehow

Don’ you draw the queen of diamonds, boy
She’ll beat you if she’s able
You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have laid upon your table
But you only want the ones that you can’t get

Desperado, oh you ain’t getting no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they’re drivin you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that’s just some people
talkin
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don’t you get cold in wintertime?
The sky won’t snow and the sun won’t shine
It’s hard to tell from nighttime from the day
You’re loosin all your highs and lows
Ain’t it funny how the feeling goes away?

Desperado, why don’t you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, open the gate
It may be rainin, but there’s a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you, before it’s too late

NEUTERED VERSION:

Stanza 1.
Reckless, furious man of passions, regardless of
consequence and wild outlaw Why don’t you become aware
of what is happening around you and realize who and
what is important to you? You been living an
unresposible, rough life for a long time now and we
know that you are tough and have your reasons but all
of the mischievous things that please you are going to
hurt you in the end.

Stanza 2.
Don’t choose a girl based on her attractive physical
appearance because you will be the one to get hurt.
You know that choosing a girl for love from the heart
is always the best way to go.

Stanza 3.
Now it seems to me, that you have been offered some
fine things from one but you always want what you
can’t have.

Stanza 4.
Man, you’re not getting any younger. Your pain and
lack of completeness is causing you to suffer. The
wonderful freedom that everyone talks about ends up
not being as good and liberating as it sounds.
Your punishment for never letting anyone close is
going through the rest of your life alone.

Stanza 5.
Don’t you ever get cold and lonely without the warmth
of someone else?
Without someone it is hard to keep up with the seasons
and tell night from day because you don’t have anyone
to share it with and you loose all you good points and
bad points of the day.

Stanza 6.
Man, you have got to realize what is important. You
need to calm down and open up your heart. It may be
hard but there is always luck so you better let
somebody love you before it is to late.

Nirvana's "Come as you are"

Come as you are, as you were,
As I want you to be
As a friend, as a friend, as an old enemy
Take your time, hurry up
The choice is yours, don't be late
Take a rest as a friend as an old memoria
Come dowsed in mud, soaked in bleach
As I want you to be
As a trend, as a friend, as an old memoria
And I swear that I don't have a gun
No I don't have a gun.

NEUTERED VERSION:

Arrive as you look, as you appear
As I need you to remain
As a pal, as a bud, as an aged foe to me
Assume your moment, and speed up today
The preference is yours, don't disappear
Accept a break, as a mate, as an anicent image
Appear covered in dirt, cleanse in bleach
As I crave you to exist
As a fad, as a bud, as an past memory
And I vow that I don't hold a gun
Nor, I don't own a gun.

--Patrick Wilson

Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance"

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance... I hope you dance.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin',
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance... I hope you dance.
I hope you dance... I hope you dance.
Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years
have gone.

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

Dance... I hope you dance.
I hope you dance... I hope you dance.
I hope you dance... I hope you dance..
Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years
have gone.

NEUTERED VERSION:
I HOPE YOU TAKE THE CHANCE OF HAVING FUN

I hope you are always curious and eager to learn,
Get your basic needs met, but don’t get so comfortable that you get
complacent,
I hope you are never rejected or abandoned by a loved one,
I hope you are always humble,
I hope you see other opportunities available if one of your choices does
not work out.
I hope that you will try to find meaningfulness in religion,
And when you get the choice of doing nothing or having fun

I hope you take the choice of having fun… I hope you take the choice of
having fun

Don’t be afraid of future challenges,
Don’t just do the easy things that aren’t challenging,
Take risks even if you don’t know the outcome,
Love doesn’t always work out but it’s a worthwhile effort.
Don’t let evil persons make you feel bitter,
Don’t compromise your moral standards
Take time to appreciate nature
And when you get the choice of doing nothing or being active in life,

I hope you take the choice of having fun
I hope you take the choice of having fun
I hope you take the choice of having fun
I hope you take the choice of having fun

Time will go by very fast and it’s not under your control.
No one wants to reflect on his or her life and feel it was misspent and
time was wasted

I hope you take the choice of having fun
I hope you take the choice of having fun
I hope you take the choice of having fun
I hope you take the choice of having fun

Time will go by very fast and it’s not under your control.
No one wants to reflect on his or her life and feel it was misspent and
time was wasted

"Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor

Risin’ up, back on the street
Took my time, took my chances
Went the distance
Now I’m back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happened too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don’t lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

It’s the eye of the Tiger
It’s the thrill of the fight
Risin’ up to the challenge
Of our rival
And the last known survivor
Stalks his prey in the night
And his fortune must always be
Eye of the Tiger

Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin’ tough, stayin’ hungry
They stack the odds
Still we take to the street
For the kill with the skill to survive
Risin’ up straight to the top
Had the guts, got the glory
Went the distance
Now I’m not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive

NEUTERED VERSION:

Getting better, back on the street
Waited patiently, took some risks
I went as far as I needed to travel
I’m prepared once again
I’m just a man who has a will to survive

Very often, things happen too quickly
You give up your true passion for glory
Don’t forget your past dreams
You must remember them to keep them in your mind

It’s the determination of the Tiger
It’s the thrill of fighting
I’m able to complete the challenge successfully
The challenge of our competitor
And the winner of the challenge
Hunts his competitors in the night
And the outcome will always be
He has the determination of a Tiger

Face to Face, outside in the heat
Remaining tough, remaining determined
The odds are against us
Yet we continue on to the street

In order to win the struggle with our skills
Getting better and now becoming the best
Had the determination, achieved glory
I went as far as I needed to travel
And I do not intend to stop
I’m just a man with a will to survive

--Andrew Moss

"Lost" by Jewel Kilcher

Lost is a puzzle of stars
that breathes like water
and chews like stone.
Alone is a reminder
of how far your acceptance is
from your understanding.
Fear is a bird that believes itself
into extinction.
Desperation: the honest recognition
of a false truth.
Hope: seeing who you really are
at your highest
is who you will become.
Grace: the refinement of a soul through time

NEUTERED VERSION:

Being lost is moving through a crowd,
easy to move around at times,
but sometimes, impossible.
You are alone while accepting something
you might not understand.
Fear can be so overwhelming that eventually
what you fear, comes true.
Desperation is finally realizing that what you held to be true,
wasn't.
Hope gives us strength to become what we are at our best.
Grace is found when a soul learns from experience and betters itself.

--Sarah Dudley

"Wild Horses" by Jagger/ Richards

NEUTERED VERSION:

Childhood living is easy to do A child has no worries
The things you wanted I brought them for you I’ve given you everything
Graceless lady you know who I am Clumsy girl it’s me
You know I can’t let you slide through my hands I could not let you go

Wild horses, couldn’t drag me away Nothing could keep me away from
Wild wild horses couldn’t drag me away you…

I watched you suffer a dull aching pain You’ve been hurt before
Now you decided to show me the same And now you’ve decided to hurt me
No sweeping exits or off stage lines No dramatic scene
Could make me feel bitter or treat me unkind Could make me made or hurt me

Wild horses, couldn’t drag me away Nothing could keep me away from
Wild wild horses couldn’t drag me away you…

I know I’ve dreamed you a sin and a lie I know I’ve disappointed you
I have my freedom but I don’t have much time I don’t have time to wait
Faith has been broken tears must be cried
Let’s do some living after we die We’ll meet again in another life

Wild horses, couldn’t drag me away Nothing could keep me away from
Wild horses we’ll ride them someday you…
Wild horses, couldn’t drag me away
Wild wild horses we’ll ride them someday

"Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" by Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,

Do not accept the ending of your life,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;

If you are old,resist the diminishing health of your body and mind;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Let your survival instinct control your actions and words as you age.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,

Those who use their years alive learning and are considered wise know this,

Because their words had forked no lightning they

Because they have learned that saying something is true doesn’t make it true, and so they

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Do not accept the ending of life.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright

Moral people speak bravely and lament when no one is looking because they know that

Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,

Their actions have not changed society,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Let your survival instinct control your actions and words as you age.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,

The foolish, who rebel against the natural progression of human life,

And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,

And attempt to prevent aging still die, and have not been happy because they worried all the time about death,

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Do not accept the ending of your life.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight

Those who have pitied themselves because of their disadvantages understand clearly at death

Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,

That there have been people with more difficult handicaps then theirs. They

Could have been as happy as anyone or perhaps even happier

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Let your survival instinct take control of you actions and words as you age.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,

My ancestors watch me from the life that comes after death

Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.

And I hope they are pleased with my discovery, although they might be jealous of my wisdom.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Do not accept the ending of your life.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Let your survival instinct take control of your actions and words as you age.
