off-campus
& distance learning committee The Brunswick Center is a consortium composed of Armstrong Atlantic State University, Georgia Southern University, and Coastal Georgia Community College. It was authorized by the Board of Regents in September 1986 to establish a residence center for selected baccalaureate degrees on the campus of Coastal Georgia Community College, a two-year college of the University System of Georgia. Armstrong Atlantic State University is the lead institution, in that it offers the majority of the baccalaureate degrees through the center, but all three institutions teach courses which apply toward the degrees. Credit earned from any of these universities through the center is accepted as resident credit by Armstrong Atlantic. Armstrong Atlantic offers three
degree programs with all course work offered at Coastal Georgia Community College
(Brunswick Center): bachelor of science in education in early childhood education;
bachelor of science in education in middle grades education; and bachelor of science in
criminal justice. The bachelor of arts in history is offered at the center, but two
courses must be taken at the Armstrong Atlantic campus. The bachelor of general studies
degree with concentrations in business, criminal justice, history, psychology, political
science, or education is also available. Also, a new sequence of courses in the bachelor
of science in nursing program for registered nurses has been added. LIBERTY
