Communication Studies Track Coordinator

The Master of Arts in Liberal and Professional Studies (MALPS) with a specialization in Communication is the ideal interdisciplinary academic emphasis for rising scholars from all segments of career professional entities and academic disciplines. This track allows the student to explore and analyze global, technological, corporate and personal communication developments and procedures used in today’s society. During this course of studies, students will learn that communication is the primary ontological, epistemological foundational tool that guides and enables humankind to conceptualize and construct every day life. Simply put, one “cannot” not communicate and be a viable part of any given society.

In addition to the Organizational Communication in Diverse Contexts (Comm. 7200) core course, the Communication track opens the academic portal to graduate level communication theory development and application curriculum, which include analyzing, and comprehending all components of nonverbal and verbal communication and helping students gain a deeper understanding of-and sensitivity to the impact of communication and gender issues. A global look at communication explores the parameters of relational communication between people from different countries and states, other courses focus on interpersonal communication in the workplace, strategic communication planning, and interaction in small groups.
